 Americo “Racket” Mascitti, age 98. Lifelong Chicago Heights resident passed away peacefully on June 14th. Husband for 68 years of the late Lena nee De Libertis. Father of Ronald (late Maedeane) Mascitti. Grandfather of Melissa (Chad) Nondorf and Ronnie Mascitti II. “Great- Grandpa Racket” of Matthew and Anthony Ramirez, and Cameron Nondorf. Brother of the late Gilda Mariano, Jean Valentino, Ann Bonadonna and Anthony “Beak” Mascitti. Beloved uncle and dear friend of many. A molder  by trade, and a  true example of hard work and dedication to ones job, Racket was a member and former President of Steelworkers Local 4441, working 38 years at the Fahralloy Foundry in Harvey before retiring in 1979; the same year he gave up his part time bartending job of 20 years at Svaboda’s Nickelodeon in Chicago Heights. Not one to sit still, Racket enjoyed spending the next 24 years working as a delivery driver and security officer for the First National Bank of Chicago Heights. Resting at Panozzo Bros.
