Albert P. Battaglin, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday Nov. 7th at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno where he had resided the past two years. Longtime West Pullman and Roseland resident. Retired after over 30 years of service as welder for Blaw-Knox Steel Foundry in East Chicago, IN. WWII Veteran/US Army-Sharpshooter and Marksman. Fenger H.S. graduate. Beloved husband of the late Kathryn nee Gaetano. Cherished father of Richard (Linda), Ronald and Cheryl Battaglin. Loving grandfather of Julia (Joshua) Klein, Emily (Jon) Vaala, Anthony and Brooke Battaglin. Proud great grandfather of Elliot Klein. Dear brother of Antoinette “Lovey” Winter, Cono V. Ciufia, and the late Vincent Ciufia and Evelyn Stankey. Brother-in-law, uncle, and dear friend of many. A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday Nov. 21st, 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 Sauk Trail Ave, Frankfort, IL. A reception to follow.
