Erik K. Nielsen. Age 84. Longtime Homewood resident. Migrated from Copenhagen, Denmark to Canada where he served in the Canadian Army. Then came to the United States where his family settled in the Chicago’s Roseland Neighborhood. Retired Carpenter. He loved being a carpenter and created beautiful kitchens and bathrooms for so many people. He was still climbing ladders even at age 84! He was a warrior!! Erik loved going to Vegas to play “Let It Ride”. He played the accordion, along with Molly B. Polka. Erik was a talented dancer and loved to cook for himself and his family utilizing fresh vegetables from his garden. Die Hard Chicago Blackhawks fan. Father of Kristine (late Nick) LoBue, Ellen (Fred) Nielsen-Chaney and Sandra DeSalvo. Grandfather of Ryan (Sammi) LoBue and Almedia “Ali” (John) Cording, Ty, Torii, Denmark and Denim Chaney, Brianna, and Colin Archer. Great grandfather of Finley, Sutton, and Kaia LoBue. Son of the late Karen nee Ericksen and Nicholas Nielsen. Brother of Butch (Rosemarie) Nielsen, the late Sigfried (Jean) Nielsen and Ellen Nielsen. Uncle and friend of many. Dearest longtime companion of the late Vicki Torsan along with her sons Richie and Joey. Memorial Visitation at Panozzo Bros.
