Lucille Tijerina - 93

Lucille “Lucy” Tijerina nee Gonzalez passed away at the age of 93. A lifelong Chicago resident, she was born and raised in the Roseland neighborhood and attended Fenger High School. As a young woman she worked at Sherwin Williams as a Lab Technician until her marriage to the late Gabriel Tijerina Sr. in 1958.

She became a longtime homemaker and was a loving mother to Gabriel (Katherine) Tijerina Jr, Victor (Marge) Tijerina, Antonio (Elizabeth) Tijerina, Michael Tijerina, Yolanda (Chris) Menor, Gloria (Terence) Sleap, Lisa (Edward) Sanchez and Ruben (Gloria) Tijerina. Grandmother of Sean, Marty (Jackie), Daniel, Cornelius (Kate), Antonio (Gabrielle), Joseph, Steven, John, Julia Tijerina, Rachel Menor, Patricia (Donald) Ehrenhaft, Angelica Sanchez, Edward Sanchez Jr, Lester (Krysta) Rivera and Erika (Jonathan) Gallegos. Great grandmother of Ella and Colton Tijerina, Jackson Tijerina, Oliver Menor, Charlotte Ehrenhaft, Selena Sanchez, Olivia and Adaline Rivera, and Lillia Gallegos.

Daughter of the late Angelina nee Gallardo and Victor Gonzalez. Sister of Rosemary (late Richard) McGathey, Shirley (late Frank) Garcia, Louis (Carol) Gonzalez, Augustine (late Cheryl) Gonzalez, Dolores (Jesus) Ortiz, Linda Umstattd, Christina (late Robert) Callahan, the late Mary Rose (late Ralph) Rodriguez and late Victor (late Betty) Gonzalez. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14th Street (US Rt 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
