During Joe’s retirement he was Director of Safety Security at St James Hospital, Manager of Skyline Pool and Security at Bloom Township Center. Longtime Catholic War Veterans Memorial Post 1060. Member of the Marchegiana Society of Chicago Heights. Husband for 61 years of the late Dolores “Dee” nee Palcek. Father of Dorene (David) Habecker, Gina (George) Hamilton and Joann “JoJo” (Enrico) Doggett. Grandfather of David C. (Missi) Habecker II, Melissa (Tim) Bounds, Kyle Joseph (Ashley) Hamilton, Leevia (Bryan) Barnett, Andy (Tara) Doggett, John (Melissa) Doggett, Suzanne (Brian Kelly) Doggett and Paul (Kimmie) Bobbie Doggett. Great grandfather of Alyssa (Leo) Teneyuque,  Savannah Rose Habecker, Timothy Bounds Jr, Pauly Hamilton, Evan Joseph and Ali Barnett, Ben, Maddie, Chloe and Bobbie Doggett. Son of the late Agnes nee Ross and Joseph Cattando Sr. Brother of the late Angeline “Toots” (late Arnold) Luecke. Brother in law of Allen (fiance Kathy LaPine) Palcek, and the late William, Joseph “Sonny” (late Joyce) Palcek, Josephine (late Carmen) Triumph and Cecelia Bava.  Uncle and friend of many.
